HARC Meeting: Supporting Grievers Through the Holidays
Practical Ways to Equip Grievers to Navigate Special Times and
An Introduction to the Ministry of Hope Beyond Our Grief
Our speaker for the December meeting will be the Rev. David C. Baker, Ph.D., Director of Hope Beyond Our Grief who will address the topic of “Supporting Grievers Through the Holidays”.
Since love does not end with death, loved one’s birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and other special days may give rise to a renewed sense of grief and reawaken painful emotions. Grief is like the ocean; it comes in waves, ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim. Come learn some practical ways you can help grieving members in your congregation to better plan for and cope with the holidays.
Join us for lunch and fellowship along with the presentation. Thank you to Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren for providing the lunch. A free-will offering basket will be available. RSVP is requested by Friday, December 5 at noon so we can get a count for lunch.
