CWU World Community Day
Looking back: Church Women United celebrated Human Rights Day with a dinner and program on Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. The theme was “Help Others at all Times.” A total of 45 women and men attended the event representing 15 area churches and 10 denominations. The guest speaker was Kathy Powderly who shared about the ministry of the Hagerstown Area Religious Council. (HARC) 22 health kits were collected for distribution to homeless children in Washington County. An offering of $735 was collected for HARC. Later the CWU Executive Council decided to increase the donation to HARC to $1000! What a blessing this event was for those in attendance and to those who will benefit from their generosity! Thank you for attending in September.
Looking ahead: Be a part of this exciting, inspirational group of Christian women. Join us as CWU celebrates World Community Day at noon on Friday, November 7. The lunch and program takes place at Zion Baptist Church. The theme is “Be Kind at All Times” based on Ephesians 4:32. The cost for the meal is $15.00.
