SUMMARY:HARC Meeting: How do Faith Leaders Deal with the Tensions of our Times?
DESCRIPTION:These are challenging times to navigate\, especially as faith leaders. If you feel like your congregation (or organization) is polarized\, with some members grieving the myriad of national (and local) changes and others happy about them\, with difficulty processing for all\, you’re not alone.  How do we deal with the tensions of our times\, remaining true to our purpose and scriptures\, while navigating what feels like a minefield?  Let’s discuss this and share ideas. We’ll first have a panel of faith leaders who will share what they are doing and their challenges\, then hold round-table discussions in small groups. \nJoin us for lunch and fellowship along with the discussion.  Thank you to Grace United Methodist Church for hosting and providing the meal. There will be a basket for free-will donations toward the meal. RSVP requested by Friday\, April 4 at noon so we can get a count for lunch and other activities. \nAmple parking is available in the lot across West Church St. from the church. Enter through the church door at street level directly facing the lot. \n \n————————————————————————– \nHARC meetings are typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for lunch\, except July and August\, with an occasional evening meeting.  The location typically rotates among different houses of faith\, giving different congregations and organizations an opportunity to host.

SUMMARY:Free Community Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:The intent of this event is to promote an opportunity for folks in the community and community businesses to just get to know each other. There is no hidden agenda. Benevola UMC has a great facility and a great community. They feel it is always easier to connect over food and fellowship. They also want to have some resources available to those who come that may be new to the area or are just finding themselves in a place where they need a little help. This is more of a relationship building opportunity versus an evangelistic outreach. Of course\, all faiths are built on the premise of caring\, trust\, and hospitality.
