SUMMARY:Stories in the Round: National Association of Black Storytellers
DESCRIPTION:Four storytellers from the National Association of Black Storytellers (NABS) Karen Burdnell\, Bunjo Butler\, Gordon (Soorah) Parks and Martha Ruff will showcase their storytelling genres – from historic portrayals to African folktales as a fundraiser for the national association – with the goal of helping to replace the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grants\, which were cancelled in 2025 due to new White House anti-diversity policies. Live plants and gently used books will be for sale as well. Book and plant sale: Doors open at 6pm – arrive before 7pm storytelling. All proceeds from the event go to sponsor Youth Program and Adopt-A-Teller school events with the annual NABS festival and conference in November. \n$12 in advance\, $15 at the door. Payment in advance must be received before Monday\, September 29. Cash or check accepted. Please make check payable to Fanny Crawford.
