SUMMARY:HARC Meeting:  Black-Owned Businesses in Washington County
DESCRIPTION:The April HARC meeting will be led by the new Washington County Black Professionals Network and will feature a panel of local Black business owners.  These entrepreneurs will share their joys and challenges\, what they have to offer the community\, and how the faith community can help them succeed. \nJoin us for lunch and fellowship\, sharing of our host’s faith tradition\, followed by the program.  Thank you to Grace United Methodist Church for hosting the meeting and our meal. Contributions toward the meal can be made via a free-will offering basket.  RSVP requested by Friday\, April 14 at noon so we can get a count for lunch. \nParking is available in a large lot on Church Street directly across from the church as well as street parking. Look for signs for the entrance from Church St. The church is handicap accessible. \n \n————————————————————————– \nHARC meetings are typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for lunch\, except July and August\, with an occasional evening meeting.  When meeting in-person\, the location typically rotates among different houses of faith\, giving different congregations and organizations an opportunity to host.  Some meetings will be recorded for later viewing\, as we are able and the subject allows.

SUMMARY:Chair Yoga Classes
DESCRIPTION:Come and experience Chair Yoga at Otterbein * All ages are welcome! \n Tuesdays\, 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. \nApril 18 – May 23 (6 weeks) \nThis chair yoga series is suitable for ALL levels and abilities. No previous experience is necessary. You will be guided through low-impact asanas (postures) from the comfort of a chair to increase flexibility\, strength\, and balance. Modifications for each asana will be given as needed. Additionally\, you will be guided through breathing exercises and meditation to promote wellbeing and strengthen the connection between mind and body. Traditionally\, yoga is practiced barefoot to maximize the benefits of circulation\, however\, you may choose to wear flat soled shoes or socks during your practice. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. \nOur instructor Shae Cowfer\, is a 500 HR Registered Yoga Instructor. \nFee \nA $30 fee will be charged for this series ($5 per class)\, payable at the first session.  Cash or checks accepted\, checks filled out to Otterbein UMC\, with yoga class in the memo line. \nRegistration \nOtterumc.org/yoga or contact Kate in the church office: office@otterumc.org or call 301-739-9385.
